Can't record HD videos from a HDV Camera

Hi!

I've got the Sony HVR HD1000e since last christmas. As the name says, it is a HDv Camera. But when I try to record the clips I want from the camera and to the computer, using Sony Vegas 10.0, only the DV Record settings works, I can't import with HDV, so the quality is crap.

My settings at my Sony HVR HD 1000e is as following:

i.Link CONV: ON:Crop (I've tried to change this to ON:SQUEZE, but that was just horrible.)
VCR HDV/DV: HDV

I am using a firewire, and I've also tried to change to the firewire, but still, it dosen't word.

The Camera got a memory card on it, but that can only save pictures.

I've tried to use severals other programs to import, such as;
Sony Vegas Pro 10.0
Windows Movie Maker
Adobe After Effects
MAGIX Movie Edit pro.

Examples of error I get when I choose HD record quality:

The HDv at Sony Vegas pro can't connect to the camera, (just black windows), but the DV Record can.

With Movie Maker it just record the clips in bad quality (DV)

Magix Movie Editor it just stands that the program can't connect with the camera, but when I take DV, it connects. But right before that error appears, the camera reacts. but then the error appears.

So is there a way I can get recorded/Imported the clips in HD, from the HD Camera?

An answer would been highly appriciated.

EDIT: It is a semi-pro camera, not a handycamera!

Hi I believe this is a

Broadcast & Pro A/V

  • HD / SD Camcorders
    • HDV
      • HVR-HD1000E

and is handled by our Sony Professional support at the link below;

Hi - I've just used Vegas Home \Studio (V 10) to import HDV video .....

My manual for my camera (HDR-HC3E) states the following settings - it might be the same for you.

VCR HDV/DV: HDV

iLink CONV: ON

Converts HDV to DV video on computer

VCR HDV/DV: HDV

iLink CONV: OFF

Converts HDV to HDV video on computer
