SONY Bravia

Hi, I've just bought this new TV. It is connected through my Virgin box. We are having terrible trouble turning the TV on. It can take up to 5 minutes. Once TV is on, it's fine. Can you advise?

My old Bravia was also connected to my old Sony video/cd player through a scart connection but there is no scart connection on this new TV, again can you please advise?

Modern TVs do tend to take longer to start up from a hard shutdown as they have various systems to load.

Yours being an Android TV will take longer to start up as it loads this system.

Scart connections are a very old cumbersome connection between devices and TVs and has been superseded

by the smaller more versatile HDMI connection. It is pretty safe to say that any new model TVs no longer carry the Scart connection.

Does your old Sony DVD/ CD player have an HDMI output, if so buy a quality HDMI cable and use that.

If not, look at the back of the TV to see if it has yellow red and white RCA inputs if so you can connect your

TV to the yellow (video), red and white (audio) outputs on the DVD player.

If your TV does not have these RCA inputs then you can try buying a Scart to HDMI converter,

Or buy a new brand new Blu Ray/DVD/CD player, don't cost much.

Hey there,

Have you tested the TV on it's own without any devices connected to it? Does it work fine on it's own?
In the meantime, make sure that the TV is up to date: https://bit.ly/3uRWnjV.

Hope it helps.
