Product confusion about is Android TV included
Hi.
I'm about to purchase my first Sony TV and I'm confused about the installed operating system that will be included.
The model number I have chosen is KDL40RE453 and for the life of me I can't find out what operating system is installed on it. Some sites dont show it and the Sony site shows it as Linux. It's very confusing.
I know the Android OS is a version of Linux but strictly speaking it's wrong to call it Linux so is the OS installed Android or a specialised version of Linux?
What is the operating system installed on this model?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @shimeld It is not an Android TV, it is Linux. Go to the support site on the Sony website and search for your TV (KDL-40RE453) and look for Specifications. It says Operating System Linux. If it was Android it would say Operating System Android.
