Hi dedge_10,

Welcome to the community.

I'm just going to try to find some answers for you. In the meantime, maybe someone else in the community might have some ideas.

Your tv specs do not include Dolby Atmos, why do you expect it to work?

It is running through A Yamaha RX-v585 RDS amp

watching Netflix etc is fine

Your Home Theatre can decode Dolby Atmos, but your Tv not. So if you are running an app on it, it would not be able to pass it to the receiver

I enabled Dolby + in the tv setting

install Kodi and play dolby-atmos-trailer_leaf_1080p.mp4

and I get Atmos

it's only the sample and Netflix, amazon I get atmos anything else I don't, usually  MKV  I struggle with

Hi Dedge_10,

Regardless of the external device connected, since your TV doesn't support Dolby Atmos, the content will not play in Dolby Atmos.

I checked the specifications of the TV and found that it only supports Dolby™ Audio(Dolby™ Digital, Dolby™ Digital Plus)

Cheers,
