Input menu doesn't work on start up

I've recently bought a KD50X85KU and i'm getting used to it, but one problem that persists is the behaviour of the input menu on start up. It takes ages to work properly: for several minutes it is incredibly sluggish and buffers commands for maybe 5 -10 seconds before performing them. Eventually it works fine. Is this a 'feature' of 'smart' google TVs or is the set defective?

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi @bully9   I would be inclined to perform a soft reset and if that doesn't work, a full factory reset.

How to reset your Sony TV with or without the remote (soft restart, power reset or factory settings)...

What happens if you remove all of the HDMI inputs, just in case an external device is causing the delay.

Hi - and thanks for replying. I thought i'd give it a further period unplugged before going through the long and time-consuming set-up process, especially as i've just completed the initial one. It seems to have sorted itself a bit, although it is still slightly sluggish until it 'warms up'. I thought it may have been a common problem, but judging by the responses it is not.

BTW i have PC, laptop and HT receiver on the 3 inputs, exactly the same as my old TV, so i guess there shouldn't be a problem there.

Hi @bully9 make sure that your TV is on the latest software version here, if the TV is running on the latest software version, why don't you try clearing cached data first on your TV by Home -> Settings -> System -> Storage -> Internal shared storage -> Cached data -> Clear cached data.
