I'm trying to get DD+ Atmos passthrough to work with my AF8, Apple TV 4K and Sonos Arc. The DD+ Atmos work with the built in Android TV, but not from the ATV. Doesn't this TV support passthrough? It has nothing to with the ATV, since people with LG TVs that have Arc has it working. Could it be because the LG TVs decode the LPCM stream to DD+? Is it possible to implement this in the AF8? Would be fantastic to get this functionality when we don't have an eArc port.
I don't want to buy a new TV to get the most of my soundbar. That seems pointless.
Hi janpfo,
Welcome to the community.
I'll look into this for you and see if I can find out. Someone else in the community may be able to advise in the meantime.
Thanks,

Hi Janpfo,
It seems that Dolby Atmos isn't supported by your TV. I found some info about this in the Help Guide: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/faep1/v1/en/04-04_02.html

Some people have tested the TV with FireStick 4K, and it supports DD+ Atmos from that device. Looks like it doesn't support multichannel PCM decoding from the Apple TV.
Kind of disappointed with the audio features. The picture quality is fantastic, but it lacks some audio features. The LG B7 from 2017 supports multichannel PCM decoding.
So the only solution right now, is to buy a Nvidia Shield. The Apple TV is the main problem, but I was hoping the TV supported more formats.
Dolby Digital Plus Atmos is supported, because it worked from the built in Android TV, but since the TV only supports 100 mbit ethernet, and the built in Android TV is slow and laggy I have to use an external player.
