3D TDG-BT400A and TDG-BT500A

Is the 3D glasses TDG-BT400A and TDG-BT500A the same? If not what are the difference? My TV is KD-65X8509C and it only offers the TDG-BT500A as a compatible accessory is this just because it's UK made. On the compatibily page of Sony regarding 3D Glasses, I can't find my KD-65X8509C and can only find a KD-658500C. I am confuse? Help! Thanks!

Hi mgarrucho,

I believe that they designed a specific 3D glass for each model, the one compatible with the KD-65X8509C is the TDG-BT500A. I can't find the other model number you wrote here anywhere, could you confirm that model number so that I can check it for you?

The Sony TDG-BT400A were the glasses included with TV's, the TDG-BT500A are the ones sold as extras. They are the same glasses, just different accounting for Sony.

I’m having issues finding these glasses at a reasonable price. I researched this same question and found that the 2 stock numbers are the same glasses from Sony. The model 400 are glasses that were included with the projectors. The 500 were packaged individually and sold separately from the projectors. They are exactly the same 3D glasses. This is what I found when I did my research and I wanted to share to help you. Best wishes and good luck. Deborah
