Sony NEX 6 time lapse

Does anyone know if there will be a time lapse app for the Nex6 anytime soon? As not sure if I should wait or buy one of the existing remote triggers, but these are quite expensive.

Press releases I've read suggest a time lapse app is in development, but I haven't seen anything since – ie during the last 6 weeks or so. Exactly when it will be released is anyone's guess, I'm afraid
