Xperia1 wireless microphone

Hello!

I bought an Xperia 1 to create some sweet videos and so far the images are great.

However, now I need to "go advanced" and use a wireless mic-system on the phone and before I spend a few hundred dollars on a system, I'd like to seek out some tips and perhaps share some experiences.

There are many different options, Saramonic has some cool wireless stuff where you easily plug a USB-c receiver and you have a clip-on microphone. There are also some 3.5mm jack microphones which I assume you can connect to the USB-c to jack adapter.

And this is where it gets interesting. iPhones have some kind of built-in audio-converters, and thus it detects external microphone automatically and you're good to go.

What about Xperia 1?
There are Cinematic-film apps that allow you to change the audio input, but this is not possible in the Cinema Pro app as far as I can tell.
When connecting a normal Bluetooth handsfree-microphone it does not record audio from the hands-free microphone, not in the Cinema Pro app and not in the standard camera app. It does, however, change to the Bluetooth one using Snapchat or Instagram, but those apps provide me way less cinematic possibilities.

I reckon this to be a smaller software update. Any chance we get support for external microphones using the native sony apps anytime soon? Having a great picture is nothing if you have terrible sound.

Looking forward to hearing from you Sony and the rest of the community.

Updating:

Turns out the Cinema Pro app responds to an external mic when using USB-c.

Got recommended a new system called Blink 500, which should be perfect for the described situation. Will update again after I test it in a few days.

Hi OP.  I have the Sony WH-1000MX3 headphones and whenever I am playing PUBG mobile and using them the phone decides to use the onboard Mic and not the headphones mic.  This is a problem because my hands are covering the mic while playing the game.   I haven't tested it to see if this happens on a phone call yet.     anybody know of a way to tell the mic to always use the headphone mic when connected?

Did you manage to test the mic? If so, what was the result?
