Help - Sound only works from Xperia 1 phone.

The only time sound will play is when it's coming from the phone. I realized much later that the sound for phone calls does go through the headphones and my car, but music will not. I haven't changed anything; I've been using the Music app the phone came with since I purchased it, I didn't disconnect my phone from any of my regular Bluetooth devices including my car, either - I've also tried resetting it, but the problem still persists.

In a nutshell: not sure what happened in the last 14 hours, but my Sony Xperia 1 will not play sound when my phone connects to my car via Bluetooth. Sound will also not play when the black (wired) headphones the phone came with are connected.

The moment I plug in the headphones or when my car automatically connects to my phone via Bluetooth the music keeps playing, but the sound is nowhere to be found.

I'm thinking maybe the phone was open in my pocket and some settings got moved around by themselves? I'm a music collector and am constantly listening to music, so this happens to be a big problem for me. I checked if maybe the settings on what can play via Bluetooth was changed, but no. Everything still looks the same.

Try turning up the media volume..on both the car and phone, sounds like it's on low or mute

OK

Try this

  • swipe from top
  • long press BT
  • Find your car's BT connection
  • press the cogwheel icon
  • See if Phone calls, Media audio and Contact sharing are allowed/switched

If that is not your issue then goto settings, find reset and reset network settings.

A fresh bluetooth setup may solve your problems.
