Card details auto fill in Amazon search bar

Hi

Noticed recently that when selecting the search box in Amazon app the auto fill of card number details pops up.

How is this possible?

Are my card details safe?

How do I make the phone stop auto filling my card details?

Thank you!

Hello @Mircea33

The card information autofill is part of Google Pay services, to help you fill fields associated with card payments in different sites and apps.

Now, if this info appears when you tap on a search field then something glitchy is happening. I'd start with clearing cached data of the Amazon Shopping app: long-tap on the Amazon Shopping icon and choose "App info" -> Storage & cache -> Clear storage -> restart your phone. You will need to enter your login credentials again to the app once you open it.

If you want to totally disable the cards autofill option, you'll need to remove the saved card details from your Google account: go to Settings -> Google -> Autofill -> Autofill with Google -> Payment methods -> Choose "Remove" on every listed payment method.

Hi Qatrium,

I had to delete the cards from auto fill

Cleared the cache and storage and did not solve the problem.

Now it's asking to scan a new card.

I don't wanna sound paranoid but will eventually reset my phone to make sure!
