Hi there

Check all your processes and their memory usage in task manager and end those that aren't necessary, for example the Vista Sidebar.
If you do need the sidebar check if you have 3rd party gadgets as well as the original Vista ones. 3rd part sidebar applications will cause a seperate sidebar process to run.

Also check startup applications in start - run- msconfig-startup. There may be some applications there that don't need to run. (eg do you need msn to startup on boot?)

Make a note if you do change anything in that startup list. The best way may be to disable one at a time if you choose some and then reboot to make sure there are no complications.
