      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi mattemanne,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The good thing about the SATA standard is that it is always backward compatible - so any SATA disc (1, 2 or 3) will work in your Vaio.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The only proviso is that the drive must be a 9.5mm thick, 2-platter drive.  Beware - some discs over 320GB are 3-platter drives and are 12.5mm thick.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So check the thickness - I think WD and Seagate are Ok but check Hitachi carefully.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.ee/html/@0248C33DDCF34AA61B8F8F33F5AFA5BE/images/smilies/013.png" alt=":wink:" title=":wink:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
