Broken Screen

Could anyong help me out? it's been unlucky day for me, last night had few drink and my cousin accidently crack the screen inside the bag. 1/4 of the screen is crack, could anyone tell me what can i do? i need to find a way to fix this but don't know what i need to do

Sorry to hear about the damaged screen.

You could contact Vaio - Link to arrange a repair or you could possibly order a new screen from nexttronics and either replace the screen yourself or take your Vaio to a local repair.

Both options will be expensive - check your house contents insurance and see if you can claim.

btw i brought this product on ebuyer.com and not much no what

since i got this right before my 18 bday and not known to any warranty or insurance stuff.
btw i have a vgn-sz1hp/b which the link doesn't have this model help pls

there is no point bringing it to your sony store they will just forward it to sony vaio-link in France or Germany. this sort of repair i would think is very expensive.here is a link to the vaio site which gives you an example of the cost.

Your knees will probably wobble with shock when you hear how much Sony will want to repair the screen. You would probably get a less expensive repair if you can find a local repairer to do the job for you. An alternative is to try somewhere like http://www.laptopsrepair.co.uk/

The cheapest option will probably be to source the part from the USA (Thalamus kindly posted the link in his previous post) and fit it yourself if you feel confident enough.

I have heard my cousin today who work at PC world said that the price would be alot since it's a sony product which is roughly bout 400~600 if i am right.

It's probably cheaper for a new laptop specially if it's 2-3 years old.
