wehere is the serial stored? or which files do i have to copy to my notebook that autoupdate and vaio-link recognices my vaio?

You can find your serial number by going to Start > All programs > Vaio Control Center > System Information.

or

In the Bios accessed by pressing F2 repeatedly when starting your Vaio

or

Usually found under your Vaio..

no i know my serial

but wehen you install windows clean the vaio programms or even the ie at vio-link doesn't know your serial. but when you have installed the original windows with all the programms and go to vaio-link everything is filled in.

so my idee was that it has to be stored somewhere. and perhaps when you know where you can make autoupdate running at vista.
perhaps in the oem data that are visible at device manager?

Don't care about that. However if you visit Sony VAIOLink Support to get latest drivers, then it will check for the serial. But you won't get problems if you use your VAIO.

It works on non-VAIOs as well. But you have to edit a Cookie.
