wireless switch

Hi Everybody and merry xmas to all.
My vgn-s1hp laptop starts up ok but when i put the wireless switch on it goes into serious error mode and will not restart unless i put the switch off. It seems like a switch problem. Any ideas please and if it needs a new switch where can i get it done.
I can use the laptop ok with a netgear adaptor and the prob has only just started happening. I`ve done nothing other than use the laptop recently so don`t think it`s anything i`ve done.

Hi voyocks,

In addition to a ‘switch’ problem (unlikely I think) there could also be a Wireless LAN card problem or a driver problem.

Have you installed the updated driver - Intel Wireless LAN Driver - 10.5.1.59a that is available on the Support site?

I`ve updated the driver successfully as you suggested and at present is ok. Haven`t thoroughly tested it yet but fingers crossed for a good result. Also what it had been doing was crashing with a momentary blue writing screen after a short while.
