    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I remember quite a long time ago reading that this sort of thng might relate to master/slave settings on the device. try checking what the jumper settings were on your old CD/DVD drive and set the new one to the same.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi All&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX201 runnings Windows XP Home SP2. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm trying to replace the DVD-ROM drive that came with the system with a Philips DVD Rewriter (SPD2410BD). The drive is detected ok when booting up. However, the system runs&lt;BR /&gt;very slow and unable to read / write to DVDs&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any help would be appricated.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Kevin&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
