Trouble using external mic with A7C

EDIT : All sorted now thank you - was using a 3 stripe jack instead of a 2 stripe!

Hi all,

I'm trying out my new a7C to record video with my external mic plugged in. However, whenever I plug in the external mic the camera doesn't pick up any sound at all. Do you know if I'm missing something/is there a setting deep in the menu I need to adjust?

Internal mic works perfectly with other devices/mic and camera are charged/mic is plugged into the right jack.

Thanks in advance for your help, it's driving me mad!

Hello @KatieLenman,

as I can see by your edit the issue was that you tried to use a TRRS microphone instead of a TRS one.

Using one with a TRS jack resolved the issue? Do I understand that correctly?
