Weak Wi-Fi signal after Android 6.0.1 update

In new version of Android 6.0.1 on Xperia Z2 (D6503 Customized NCB_1282-0508), the wifi signal of phone is very very weakly, it very badly on the smartphone. I suggest sony fix it as quickly.

Also Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test WiFi

If you think that there's something wrong with your phone, you can contact your Local support to get it inspected, don't forget to test other routers.

Hey LongDiepVN! Solution to poor wifi signal could be...

Go to settings, about phone, look for 'built number' of your android. Tap on it seven times. That will enable Developer Options. You will see this menu when you go back in settings. Enter in this menu and scroll down to find option that says - Use old DHCP Client of Lolipop. Turn on that, by default it's disabled because of marshmallow. Now your phone will use an older method of DHCP client for for connection. This should be resolved then.

When I test in Safe Mode, result is Test Complete: Passed.

But the same problem.

I test on 3 wifi router in 3 different places. And result is the same, weakly signal wifi. It only level 2 although distance between Z2 with router is 2 - 3 meters. The same, when I use version 5.1.1, signal wifi is very good (max level).

Thanks for your interested for my post.

However, the signal wifi still weakly.

I think that it only change method of DHCP client. And, it not impact to signal of wifi. Maybe, new release be able to fix it.

Well LongDiep. Mostly it's just the new system, but i hope it will ne resolved with new updates. You can try to use WiFi Signal Booster apps. This could enhance a signal from 30-40% i guess. I tryed it and did notice a little boost. When you are looking for those apps be carefull and choose wisely because most likely 80% of them are pranks only, it's though to find real app for this. Indeed i do know one. Description of this app: It's a deep blue icon with white wifi in the middle and red cross like first aid.

Search by 'WiFi Signal Booster'. Also there is another one called 'Interner Booster & Optimizer'. Red icon with white signal in the middle. This app can be used for both root or non-rooted phones. Give it a go, you might see improvements

Thanks Blade10X, I will be try it and choose it as workaround while I waiting new updates.

I very love Sony but now Sony appear many error. Although Sony released new Android is slowest.

I hope sony fix it as quickly.

I do have the same issue. Since update on Marshmallow my wifi is really weak. My version is not a beta 570 but it seems Sony wants us as alpha tester

My Z2 has the same issue, wifi drops VERY often, totally irrelevant of signal strength. Wifi worked flawlessly before MM.

Also the new camera app and removal of the camera widget shortcuts is terrible...

Today I installed the latest update for my Z2. Now I have build-no. 23.5.A.0.575 installed. After the update, the Wifi become useless. It connects to the access point, is getting an IP-address, says, "No Internet connection" (which is not true, because some other devices, connected to the same access point have internet connection), disconnects and starts the procedure again. Before the update today, everything was working without any problems (had there also Android 6.0.1 - don't know the build-number anymore).

Is it possible, to go back to the state, previous to the update today? I'm very unhappy about this situation, because I need the phone with a working Wifi-connection for my job.
