Scrolling Z5 screen and typing tooooo sensitive

The screen on my Z5 has become over sensitive and when scrolling it keeps opening pages or links even when I hardly touch the screen. Indeed while typing this sort paragraph it's taking longer because the keyboard is entering letters for me. I have already rebooted the phone reinstalled software and was OK for a while. But now it's back. Impossible to go on to Facebook as I can't scroll down without opening every link.

Maybe you enabled glove mode in display settings?

Glove mode not enabled, checked that also set screen to medium not any better either

Try to boot in safe mode and see if the problem persist.
Press and hold the power off menu to reboot in safe mode.

In safe mode mode now as I'm typing this, tried some Web pages and the problem is still there.

Phone is definitely misbehaving as it decided to turn it self off after freezing. I guess I will try another reinstall and it happens again I'll send it back. Great phone up until now but this is starting to annoy me now.

Update when I have a pop up box( from a app) such as accept or cancel the screen is totally unresponsive only way out is to press home button.

Got my z5 back from repair very quick turnaround under a week. Report says fault resolved so hopefully it will be OK now. Glad to have it back the difference between a older Xperia is very substantial.

Regarding the screen protector I now don't have one although I do have the style cover which is probably the best way of keeping the phone in good condition. Anyone else got any thoughts on screen protectors?

Is it a regular Z5 or a Z5 Compact?? I know this was the exact same issue with a batch of the white Z5 Compacts at release (mainly sold in Scandinavian countries).. I had the same issue myself and took me well over 2 weeks to get my phone company to give me a new one in black instead lol
Trust me though, it's a hardware problem that I don't even think Sony ever figured out themselves 😕 don't waste time trying to fix the software

Z5 regular in green UK unlocked model. So far upon receiving the phone back it is working OK but it is early days yet.

did your problem return after you had your phone delivered from local support team? I am experiencing the similar issue sometimes after my lcd screen was replaced because of other issue.
