Xperia Z5 compact now a brick after google password reset

Updated my Z5 compact yesterday morning - in the evening I was checking my contact list I noticed I have over 30 Xperia Care contact numbers listed - unable to delete. Sony advice was to back up phone and repair software. Phone backed up and started the repair. Today I am unable to use phone. 14.20 today I did another software repair still the same. I can only go as far as "Verifying your account" I enter my email address and password and then it asks for it again and again and again. I cannot go any further. I have checked my Google account details and they are connect and working. What do I do now?

Log into Google account on pc and disable 2 step verification.

2 step verification is already off.

Cheers for info but thats no good to me. Sony advice was to back up and repair software as the phone wasnt working correctly. I did this yesterday and all I get now is a scrolling screen telling me to verify my google account - doesnt work at all. I cant do any thing else to the phone. It is a pure brick.

@bobsmith Are you able to post a screenshot so I can understand better what's going on? Is it the set up the phone tutorial or something else?

Unable to do a screen shot. The page I get too is where I have to verify my account as I have rest my phone. I fill in the details for my email address and password, press Go and it returns back to the first page " Verifying your account". Unable to anything more.

Have you tried a different gmail account? @bobsmith Create one using your computer then log in with that.

Typed both correctly, even used another pc to sign into google all works fine. Phone doesnt like me.
