Can you elaborate which vibration you want to turn off? Is it calls vibration or Keyboard strokes or something else?

For calls:

Settings -> Sound & notification -> Disable "also vibrate on calls"

For apps: each app has its own vibration preferences in its settings.

Hi! Thanks for the reply.

When you push the volume button down, it will go to the lowest (no sound) and the phone will vibrate when any message/call came.

I turn it off in Whatsapp and Message but still it vibrate.

Hi @Ariff10,

As Quester said there are different settings depending on what kind of vibration you wish to disable.

Apart from the one that Quester already mentioned you also have vibration on touch which you can disable if you go to Settings > Sound & notification > Other sounds.

If you wish to disable vibration for the keyboard, and are using the Xperia keyboard app, you can disable it if you go to Settings > Language & input > Xperia keyboard > Sounds and vibrate.

If you want no vibrations for any notifications you can put your phone into <STRIKE>Silent</STRIKE> Do not disturb mode. Lower the volume all the way down until you get the vibration only mode, then press the volume down (-) key one more time and your phone should go into <STRIKE>silent</STRIKE> Do not disturb mode.

It's an high-named "silent mode" 😛

Do not disturb is the name for the mode I was referring to, not Silent. Sorry about the confusion.

In Do not disturb mode the phone won't vibrate or play any sound when you receive notifications until you exit Do not disturb unless you add some exceptions. You can read more about this on our support website: http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz5/userguide/Sound-ringtone-and-volume/

So in short, if you want no sound or vibration for any notifications you can put your phone in Do not disturb mode. If you wish to disable it for only some apps you will have to look for a setting to do so within the app itself. If that setting doesn't work properly you can try reinstalling the app in question and if that doesn't help you should reach out to the app's developer. If you can't find a support section in the app itself you should be able to find some contact information to the developer on the app page in Google Play.

Still cannot turn off vibration when touching screen. For example the Home Screen or Back "Button" it clicks and vibrates. It no longer does so with keyboard input. There doesn't appear to be a setting to turn it off. "Vibrate also..." is off.
Further advice appreciated. Thank you.

There is a setting called "Vibrate on touch" that can be found in Settings > Sound & notification > Other sounds. If this is disabled it should not vibrate when you navigate through the menus. Can you verify that it is disabled in your phone?

Hello Sony Support Forum. I want to turn off the vibrations and sound that happen in my Experia Compact whenever the phone receives a message, from several different apps. I have turned off the notification button in each of the apps. I read earlier this morning on this site about setting the phone to Do Not Disturb mode, and I was thrilled to have found that because turning off the apps didn't solve the problem. But now, the phone once again has vibrated and done its little tune when a message came in, even with DND mode activated. What What What is the solution to this problem? I'm tired of having to wrap my phone in a towel or turn it off altogether in order to have some quiet in my apartment, to not have naps distrupted, my partner wakened, our sleep disturbed during the night....
