Usb otg support for Android 5.1.1

Im experiencing problems connecting usb drive to the xperia z3. The phone charges ok via usb. It also connects to pc via usb.
So i don't know what the problem is with usb mass storage connection!

Kindly assist

NB:
I did usb host diagnosis and found api support with question marks and also kernel had question marks.
Does this mean it has software related isssues then? Probably a bug and will go with the next update

I think they changed the USB detection in 5.0 to accommodate the Z3+/Z4 etc etc.

Because these models have waterproof USB ports, they put the USB otg setting in

/settings/device connection/USB connection/ detect USB device.

Try that, although the Z3 has a different port, they may have just put the setting there to keep things continuous between models.

Check otg cable, I have no problem on Z3 Dual D6633 and android 5.1.1 f.w. 23.4.A.1.232.

Android 5.1. 1 does not have option for detect usb connection.
Just has media transfer or mass storage ( i have tried both) and install software to pc
I tried 2 otg cables and also the same cables work on another phone ( xperia z).

That's strange I have android 5.1.1 and it detect's usb mouse, keyboard or pendrive when I connect it.

Wow...now thats strange if you have 5 1 1 and can connect and i cant.

I used android usb host diagnostic app.. And found that my android api has question marks instead of yes. Even for kernel support mine shows question mark, while its supposed to yes for support.

I dont know if its and issue with my update and that its a bug on my phone.

Which app do U use for testing? It's probably issue when updating to newer version of android, try to reflash current f.w. once againg. If this dosen't help try factory data reset.

How can i flash the firm ware?
Please tell me i can do it without a pc...coz mine is just not available at the moment (lol)

I've run this app and it says Kernel - Claims Support Yes, Device detected NO, Verdict - OS support NO, 3rd party apps NO, but my pendrive show's up as normal and I can use it. Which f.w. do You use?

Use Sony Pc Companion for reflash, turn app on then Support Zone > Software Update

Any more ideas guys? I did a full factory reset, wiping internal storage but still no luck
Unless now there's no way, then only option us to wait for an update.
Feeling so frustrated!

I don't know why this is marked as a solution PCC repair DOES NOTHING. I have a D6633 and I have not been able to use a USB OTG (either via a cable or a propper USB OTG pen drive) since updating to 5.1.1 on my D6633, I have done the repair, I have even tried different Firmware versions with NO LUCK.

My guess, Sony, in all it's wisdom has enabled it for some regions and disabled it for others. That's the only logical answer to some people being able to use it and others not.

WHY SONY DOES NOT BOTHER TO RESPOND TO USERS? It's beyond me.

So, thank sony for breaking it for you......

I use D6633 with firmware 23.4.A.1.264 Customized CE1 and it work's normally try that one and if still no luck contact to Your local support

edited.... tried, tested, worked. CE1 rom has USB OTG, working in fat32 and ExFat, thank you.

Also, a friend @xda tested the PT version and it also worked.
