Hello,

I have the same exact problem, but the screen is not broken - it has just become unresponsive to touch.

I tried connecting more than one mouse throught the OTG - the mouse lights up indicating it is receiving power from the phone but i get no pointers on the phone's screen. Help?

So my z3's screen broke (again), and I need to get all my information off there, most importantly contacts and text messages. I plug in a usb cable to my pc. The phone comes up in my computer. I open it. There's nothing there. Just the message "this folder is empty."

I have hidden files set as visible, I've tried 3 different usb cords, and reset both devices several times. WHAT DO I DO?

Sorry, just freaking out because my entire job is tied to this thing. I need to see those text messages asap.

Thanks for reading.

Try using PC Companion to fetch your data from your phone, contacts can't be copied/pasted as far as I know.

Sorry to hear about your phone

The folder is empty if the screen is locked on the phone. Can you still see the phones display? If the phone is not working you could connect a mouse to the phone using an OTG-cable and unlock the screen with the mouse.

Thanks, the mouse was what I needed... the stupid unlock pattern just needed to be put in.

Thanks to everyone who contributed!
