:smileysmileythumbsup: I bought my Sony xperia Z2 from a Friend that was moving abroad, phone is just a month old when i got it. I was trying to update with Sony Bridge for mac, and hald way during the updating it stopped and the computer could not recognise the phone and the battery started draining and it can't be charged. My phone is dead now, and is not charging. Please is there any solution to this? I contacted Sony for a replacement battery and they blantly said they do not make replacement batteries for Sony xperia Z2.

Try using a windows system with PC Companion and perform a system repair

To perform a system repair

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)

Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

As for the battery hold power and volume up for around 15 seconds then plug it into a mains socket for a minimum or 2 to 3 hours

Hi, my Sony xperia z2 battery is completely flat that it won't charge neither will the window PC Companion recognise it. I am really confused on what to do now

Do you get at least a notification light when you attempt to charge it?

When using magnetic dock charger the led blinking amber and the charging notification also blinking. No problem using the usb to charge

Hey - I had this probelm (battery dead, no red LED when plugged into charger, or using wireless charger).

The solution for me, was I removed the simcard and reinserted it, and it was after that. 😕

I am having this problem too. My Z2 is 3 months old. Its gone dead after battery went low. Now red light blinks when attempting charging with USB, no notification with magnetic cable. Overnight charging doesn't improve situation. Pressing power button, power+volume, off button doesn't help. I have not updated in response to recent info about availability, but did download the PC Companian onto my PC and configured wi-fi connectivity with phone. No change on removing and then inserting the the simcard or the memory card.

I followed your suggestions. At some point, the message says the phone must be at least 80% charged for the repair to proceed. If the icon indicates less or we are unsure, we are supposed to charge it first. He I am stuck. I have tried to charge over 3 days and all I get is the blinking red light. Should I assume that the charge is ok and proceed?

There are two people here with similar problem. Neither of the Z2s are charging. Gave mine to the Service centre yesterday.

Similar symptoms here, gave mine to service nearly two weeks ago. Still waiting for the returned unit.

Got a replacement unit within 1 week. Service center guys were good (the one opposite cyber tower in Hyderabad). Came updated with android 4.4.4. Like the updated ui. I prefer the legends below the icons, this size. Definitely less battery drain. Sound is better. pics not as good as my original camera, (lens damage?). Easier to set up throw etc. All in all, the update an improvement. for me.

Hey,my Xperia z2 that i have wont charge beyond 1 percent i think thats kinda wierd but it also takes like 5 minutes to charge the 1 percent,the notification light to tell me that its charging is on but after 5 minutes it turns off so i turn the phone on and its only1 percent i didnt take the charger out of it and its not charging so its only 1 percent how can i fix this?or is this a battery problem

Yes...same weirdo thing is happening with me...

i had a system upgrade and after that..my contacts hanged up..i had to restart a few times to fix it...then..

now my charging...................PHONE IS NOT CHARGING AT ALL ..........i do not get it...it is perfect phone for me...., ( Z2 Xperia I mean) , but now.....what the heck is going on ? any clues , any ideas? any solutions ?

system update was provided by sony i believe for it . what do you think could be done to save my phone now ?

Hi guys!

I faced the same problem since last week after i update into 5.1.1 lolipop.. i noticed that the led turn red and the battery icon show its charging... but its not!! it was draining faster though!.... when it become below 15% it state that the charger was not enough power.... now i have downgrade it back to 5.0.2 but still facing the same problem! please.. this is my fifth sony phones and loved experia z2 very much.. haven't face any problem with it for almost 2 years.. except for this week....
