Thanks to Jay-C for raising this issue. I was furious when I realised that messages had inadvertently been sent without my knowledge and containing incorrect information (saying I was driving, which I presume was because the phone was in my pocket as I was cycling along). Some people might find this a useful feature, but surely it should be possible to disable it without getting rid of the messaging service altogether?

Seriosly, the engineers at Sony really must **bleep** for missing this...

The other day when I got missed call the phone automatically sent this message to the caller (translated): "I'm busy all day. Please call later." I don't know why my phone sent this, but I sure as **bleep** didn't tell it to. I can think of two reasons why this happend, and both points to great incompetence in the design of this phone.

1. The phone automatically sent this message when I didn't respond, acting on my behalf and telling the caller something without my knowledge. This is infinitly **bleep**. Apperently this "feature" cannot be disabled. Even more **bleep**.

2. By moving around in my pocket, I accidently pocket-sent this sms to the caller. This is **bleep** because the thouch screen should not accept input while still in my pocket, which can easily be detected by using the proximity sensor and gyros.

FIX THIS **bleep**!

When you receive an incoming call you have the option "Reject with message" on the screen. I think that you might have pushed that option by mistake.

The only way to deactivate this feature is to disable to messaging application. But then you would need to use a third party application for messages.

Yeah, probably, my point is that should not be possible by simply pulling the phone from my pocket. The phone should be smart enough to detect when it's in my pocket by using the proximity sensor. At least it should require some gesture that is unlikely to be random before rejecting the call with a message, just like it requires you to slide across the screen when answering.

This should not be difficult to understand nor implement.

2015 and I have still not got a satisfactory answer to this problem. The button for fejecting a call with a text SHOULD require a distinct action like swiping to answer the phone. Mine always activates as I take it out of my pocket and i miss the calls!

Even if I did not press the Reject with a Message botton, the phone still send text automatically to the person calling. It is embarrassing to find out that you sent a text without your knowledge to the person calling you saying, "I'm still driving. Please call me later." when I don't even have a car. How do I disable the phone from sending those texts automatically???

I'm facing the same problem for 4 years and i am astonished why the sony team doesn't find this problem and doesn't correct this. This is absolutely pathetic. If they can't fix this problem then they should supply designed flip covers with the mobiles.
