Xperia Z2 - soft keys, keyboard nothing works while on call

Hi,

I have been using the Z2 for some time now and totally in love with the hardware design and the nicely laid out interface. Though sony decided to discriminate the Indian users by not giving the noise cancellation head or the LTE model ....considering its 50K phone here ...which is not cheap

Aside from what mentioned above there are 2 more things that’s bother me

1. There are some blotwares on the phone provided by sony but there are no options to uninstall them.

2. While on call nothing else works the soft keys gets disabled, you can’t type a msg the keyboard doesn’t come up. This was how it was in my Z as well. In the forum some people mentioned that it got resolved in the 4.3 update, however i don’t think it is yet.

I have been experimenting with other phones and they seems to have all that working while still on call like replying to BBM, text msg etc ...wonder why its not there in Z2?

Your always going to get "bloatware" on a phone unless the company releases a Google Play edition which has stock Android.

I can text and view gallery when on talk.
Tried to repair/reinstall software?

when the icons are blocked, like playing RR3 or Asphalt, try to swipe with your finger from top to the centre of screen, like wanting to open status bar... the icons should show and let do operations.

You can uninstall or disable most of the bloatware. IIRC there are two apps you can not disable nor uninstall.

i have done a clean install but it didnt help...the problem still persists.

While on call no nothing pretty much works, keyboard doesnt come up, cant reply to SMS etc.

#sony team - any suggestions on how to use the keyboard while on call?

Currently while on call nothing works - the back button, keyboard etc doesnt work i can only read text messages but cant reply same for emails and other apps where keyboard is required.

I have tried doing a repair and clean install but wasnt of any help.

I know that for some people task killers did not allow them to use keyboard during call.

Bro I found the solution its the "Smart Key" app uninstall it, it stops your keyboard from working when in a call and the bsvk button won't work and it also messes up your widgets on your lock screen uninstall Smart Key

I also experienced this, uninstalled smart key and keyboard works again.

That fixed my same problem after deleting smart-key, that was a great info rather than reseting my xperia.

It works for me. I was looking for solutions around the web and finally, so that you very much! Now I'm going to try only with the Smart Connect app. Looks better than Smart Key. Thanks again!
