Looks like either Instagram or full version of Messenger was the issue. I deleted both of these apps after they were the only ones showing up as having processes running when I checked it out in developer mode and no issues for 36 hours so far which is longer than I normally get before the issue pops up.

Downloaded Messenger Lite instead so for Instagram I'll just use my browser like I do for Facebook.

Hopefully it will stay fixed and I can restrain myself from losing another phone to being thrown on the ground

Hi guys, I know there was a problem with the Movie Creator App that made Sony phones get really hot and freeze (my Z2 did it, now my Z5 has the same issue). I've disabled that and it worked ok for a little while but now doing the same thing so there's obviously another app causing the same issue.

Is there any other apps that have been diagnosed as doing the same thing before I start deleting them all one by one and waiting a couple of days for each one to see what it could be? Safe mode worked fine for about 4/5 days so it's obviously the same issue but another app.

any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, thanks. I've done that and the problem goes away so it is definitely either a third party app causing the issue or a factory one that can be disabled (like movie creator) however I use the third party apps so I was hoping that someone might have experience with a common one that causes the same issue so I don't have to use it in safe mode and then still have access to my third part apps and only delete/disable the one causing the problem.

I hope that makes sense?
