Xperia 1 sd card unavailable problem

When start the camera app, it will show up"sdcard unavailable" message. What is the problem came from? My sdcard is new, the phone must be no problem, because I have another xperia 1 device with another new 512gb samsung evo sdcard, also have same problem. On facebook some user also disscussing about that issue, please help

Go in to Settings - Storage, pick the SD card and format it in the phone.

Reboot the phone and go in to the camera and pick external SD card as the storage option.

I had been doing this way, but after I restore all sd card data, the problem come again. This kind of problem appear on my xzp since update to android 9, when xzp still on android 8, no problem at all

Maybe your SD cards are faulty, or maybe even fake if it happens on more than 1 SD card from the same brand on 2 Xperia 1 phones, which you say it does.

I have two xperia 1 and two different brand sdcard with 512gb. On facebook xperia page many xperia 1 user also report same issue and this problem also appear on my xzp after upgraded android 9

What data are you restoring?

Any Android folders or just media?

Just all media folder., not android folder

Format the card through the phone, and try it out, if it works, fine.

Then add your data back, from a backup like on a pc, etc.

I have have the same problem with 400GB SDcard.

When I open my camera sometimes... Like 3 times a week, at the times want to take a photo a window shows saying cannot read SDcard at this time.

Is it because it's almost full... For a phone that should be able to read a TB SDcard, thia shouldn't be happening.

same issue here sometimes hit when launch camera app. Even though changed to save to internal memory.

Recently start to saved with green picture after shoot. Restart to resolve.

Frustrating issue.

I just have the same problem with my xz2p with latest patch. My xz2p is pretty new, only used around 4 months. No problem at all before taking photo today.

I'm experiencing the same problem too. It is pretty annoying.

Have these SD cards been size verified using H2testW on pc?

That's the first place to check SD cards with unavailable or read issues.

The message of 'SD Card Unavailable' will only flash for a split second when invoke the default camera app using the shutter button.

Thats sony camera app problem. Test another camera app can save photo to sdcard., no problem at all
