Hi,

I also have issues straight after the update. The lockscreen suddenly does not recognise my pincode, even though its been the same for a long time, and also is the same as the simcard pincode and that worked. just the android lockscreen pincode seemed to have been reset by the update and now there is no way of unlocking it, or changing the code.

Ive sent out arequest for support here and Google has no way of being contacted.

Is there any more news on issues with this update?

Hi all,

Recently I decided to upgrade to Android 9 Pie, and I'm very disappointed with the quality of software. My old issues weren't resolved, and more of that, I've got new ones. My primary reason to upgrade were hopes to improve battery usage, since battery stats show the device sleeps only 60% of time when screen is off. Other Sony devices I'm able to check, show upto 96% in similar conditions (on Oreo). So, this problem remains exacty the same, with no ways to detect which software prevents system from sleep.

And, as I mentioned, I've got even more issues:

1. When I'm calling someone and the line is busy, the sound switches to loudspeaker, so everyone around me here that short tones again and again. Rebooting doesn't help.

2. Lockscreen sometimes shows I have an alarm in 10 munutes (default postpone time) when there's no alarm scheduled. Reboot helps, but this is misleading, and didn't happen before.

3. LED sometimes doesn't go on when charging when screen is off, but does so when screen is on. Again, this didn't happen before.

I'm very disappointed with this update. It doesn't bring anything really good, but it removes features which WERE good. For example, I cannot customized system icons now - on Oreo, I could switch off WiFi and Bluetooth icons, it just worked so I could not to care. Why is it important to show now, always? That's large 4G symbol, does it mean the importance of 4G grow proportionally in Android 9? Just kidding.

That said, whereas I don't beleive these kind of issues are going to be fixed (the whole 1 year after initial release!), and since I know processes in software industry, I hope there is some (easy) way to revert to original Oreo 8. At least, I has less bugs. You could say, what about security - I believe, this is mostly a myth, especially on Android devices, especially with an experienced and knowledgeble owner. Security doesn't worth day-to-day UX flaws (not trolling, just my opinion).
