I bought the Xperia XZ2 Compact because I wanted a poclet-size phone similar to that of my Moto-x. The display width is the same, and I get more vertical screen space with the Compact. The text is very hard to read, compared to the Moto-x, even at the same font height (size), apparently because the character stroles/lines are noticeably thinner on the Compact. I am over sixty, and wear bifocal glasses. I can read fine on the Moto, but not the XZ2 compact. I need a different font with wider/thicker strokes to make the Compact useable for me. Otherwise I'm going to return the phone to the store. Anything I can do to change the font? Using a Google Play ap seems risky to me. Can Sony or someone else help? Thanks!

Hi @RapidR, welcome to our community!

There is no setting to change to a different/thicker font, however have you tried to change the font size in the device as @alexdon and @Strampke recommended? You can find this setting in Settings > Display > Font size and if you drag the bar in the bottom to the right, it will change to Large or Largest.

This does not make the text thicker, but since the text gets bigger, I hope that helps. You can also take a look in Settings > Display > Display size and adjust that a bit.

Keep us posted!

With a bit of learning you can command your device simply with spoken commands.

- Switch on Talkback which gives you feedback in speech

- Try another Launcher (home screen) I like Launcher 10 and Simple Launcher (at no cost) or Necta Launcher.

Launcher 10 stole my heart, it is soooo... Windows. Home screen with tiles and when one swipes right all apps are there great in view, great.

If you need further help, just ask.
