Does bared 3.5mm headset jack is waterproof ?

Hello, I bought a new Xperia XZ Dual Sim (F8332) recently, it is a waterproof phone. However, the 3.5mm headset jack is bared, I want to know does it waterproof? Thanks!!

Yes the exposed 3.5mm jack is ip68 rated.

Hi @waibb, welcome to the community.

@Viridis is correct! It is indeed waterproof. There is a waterproof membrane that keeps it water tight. The same membrane is in the charging port.

If you do get water in it, make sure you shake it out and let it dry before you try connecting any headphones or charger.

Thank you very much. Because I am an outsider of waterproof issues. I have a waterproof camera previously which has a waterproof gate. I am the first time to use a bared waterproof device.
