After updating my Sony X10 to 2.1 the first thing I wanted to try was HD 720p video. I find in spots the video seems to stop and after a couple of second restart again. The audio seems not affected by this occurrence. I thought maybe my micro sd card is to slow in handling this information. Is there anyone else having similar problem and what was your solution. I rather not buy a new card and have nothing improve. The phone has a 16Gb card included at purchase (not sure of the cards speed).

One of my videos taken for a example

Before you do an unnecessary waste of money on better SD memory stick (original one should be the slowest), look for apps or applications running in the background, actually your phone could keep a lot of them running and causing such issue.. Do a restart and keep close all those active like wifi and other wireless data traffic, edge 3G BT.. hth.

Hi,

I am not sure what I mention here is related to the problem you describe in the video, if not correct please excuse,

In general terms of video recoreding I prefer shooting videos without auto focus, because the script written for the auto focus runs always in the back ground and a sudden change or even the slightest of motion could deter the quality of the output.

While trying to iron out the reason for the video or trying better to understand where the problem lies,

Keep your mobile in a standstill position(fixed in a stand preferably) and record a video, when you still have the problems it should be due to the so said problems of the RAM being eaten up, SD card speed etc.

720p is 1280 X 720 resolution in "progressive scan" -- that's what the P stands for (as opposed to the older "interlaced" method of creating an image). Anyways, it's still technically considered HD, it's just not as high of a resolution as 1080p (1920 x 1080)-- but for a lot of applications, it still looks quite good and certainly is high enough for smaller screens. Many HD broadcasts are in 720p and many video games are rendered natively in 720p because it's less demanding than 1080p. It's pretty hard to tell the difference until you get to a TV screen larger than 40" or so sitting at 6 - 8 feet away, depending on how picky the viewer is.
