Touch screen not responding after software update

Hi,

My girlfriend has Sony M4 Aqua and it has had some serious problems with the touch screen. The first problem occurred in the summer when she updated the phone software. After the update had finished and the phone restarted, the touch screen wasn't responding to anything. Only the physical buttons on the sides were working. We returned the phone to the store where it was bought, they sent it to be fixed and after the phone came back, everything was working just fine again.

Now just a few days a new software version became available for the phone. I updated it and again the same goddamn thing happened. The touch screen wasn't working. Last time we were told that some kind of physical connector was fixed in the display so I thought the crappy hardware had broken again, maybe because the device heats so much during the update process. But I still wanted to try resetting the device so I downloaded the Sony PC Companion and did the repair install on the phone. And it was still not working. The reset however was succesful and the device wanted to do the setup (choose language, setup Google account etc) but I did nothing since, you know, the screen wasn't working.

We went back to the store again to send the phone for a repair but when the clerk turned on the device, everything was working just fine! Apparently the phone shut down when I didn't finish the setup process and when it was turned back on again, it worked. We didn't do the phone setup immediately and the phone shut down again. When it was turned on, once again it didn't work.

I have been trying to restart the phone multiple times now and even did another repair install on the PC Companion, but nothing seems to happen and the touch screen still doesn't work. It feels like it's a very weird software issue after all but I just can't find a foolproof way to get it to work. Has anyone else experienced something similar and is there any way to fix it without sending the phone to be repaired again?

Mines the same and not happy installed new android update and the phones now changed and hardly anything working

My phone hasn't worked properly since my last system update. No sound freezes on constant blue screen
