Issues with Z3+

First of all, shame on you for removing my post on the battery problem I faced on Z3+

Issues I face with Z3+ that made me regret buying it:

1- battery drains so fast compares to Z3, even battery has a slight drop in capacity but I doubt it stays for even a whole day. It goes down up to 2-3% in 1 min even less time.

2- very annoying overheating problem even when browsing the net.

3- device does not stand for 75% of the day if LTE is on.

4- Display in Z3 is better in low light.

5- Camera shuts down in 1 min even 4k is not used.

6- problem in notification and ringing sound is back, I do not hear my phone if it rings or I get a message even the volume is up to the max. I do not know that I get a message if the notification light is not on.

7- phone is not slim at all, it is same thickness as Z3.. IPhone 6 should be 6.9 mm, when I put it next to Z3+ it is much slimmer than Z3+. When I put Z3+ next to Z3 it is same exact thickness..

Actually I see it a downgrade of Z3.. It is a minus more than a plus..

At least solve the heat, notification and battery drain probs pleasee!!

Yes battery drains faster than z3 but not a huge difference
It heats up at times- browsing, gaming
Camera apps have issues, makes the phone heats up badly, but camera quality is MUCH better than z3
It's actually 6.9 mm same as i6 even it does not look the same- it's due to the rounded edges of the i6( but i6 has the camera on top of it makes it more thicker)
But customer service is rubbish in UK

Actually I have to conclude the same things and worse :

1 overheating and underperforming processor. Phone can't perform its normal tasks, starting up the camera can take up to 10 seconds, in stamina mode it usually crashes

2 build quality is terrible : glass breaks easily, the aluminum housing dents and scratches and worst of all it bends near the sim-cover.

3 after a night in the hot tub the phone is filled with water. Both camera's are condensated with water vapor

4 support of sony will not admit any faults from Sony s side

I have a z3v and already had the first one replaced due to battery issue. Now, even with a Verizon car charger, I received an error with charging and my battery is draining faster but, not the 3% a minute the original phone did. The fact that Sony won't fix your phone without leaving you deviceless for 2 weeks is kind of a pissed as well.

What I noticed is that while I was using the phone (browsing Play Store, downloading and installing Apps) it drained the battery faster than the original charger (or the USB3.0 port in my computer) could charge it. I thought the original charger that came with the phone is quick charge capable?!?!

@ Sony: Get at least your data sheets / white papers right! It's not that difficult.

My charging port on Z3+ is rusting and I have to move it around to find the perfect position so it will charge. Chat with Sony USA says they can't fix my phone because they don't support it. Isn't Z3+ the global version?

Hm. Not sure about the battery drain issue. I tested it last night the phone charged until 96%. 7 hrs later.. it's down to 80%.

On my Z2 which has more battery capacity.. it's around the same amount. I think the battery drainage also tied in with the apps that you have. Mine drain a lot with social apps running.

Overheat issue - I use the aluminum foil trick. It's working fine. People have used aluminum foil on their laptops to cool down the cpu.

I don't see any difference for the display or the audio quality.

They waterproof the microusb port. YES! Let's see Apple do that. With my z2... the rubber seal on the cover is pretty much peeling off because of the wear and tear over the years. I am going to send my Z2 to sony repair to change the rubber seal. Hopefully they can replace it. Otherwise I can use the magnetic charger on the side. I just have to take it out of the case everynight to charge it.

Bigger storage capacity - thank you for that..not really need it since I store everything on sd card or upload online...but it's a good improvement.

For Z3 user I don't think you guys will see a huge change. But overall I'm happy with my Z3+ since I have a Z2. Now my Z2 looks like a tank placed side by side with Z3+. But keeping my Z2. It's a good phone.

I have same issues as everybody else.

Most annoying is the overheating problems.

I chatted with a consultant at Sony that was NOT aware of the heating problem.

He asked me to check the version number of the phone.

My version number is: 28.0.A.7.24.

He said that that version was the latest and i quote:

"That is the latest version, in this version we have limited heat generation while using some functions. Note that Xperia Z3+ is a high performance device which will under some circumstances generate extra heat while doing tasks which require a lot of processing, such as photographing. But if the issue occurs very frequently you may ask your retailer you help you in sending your device in to a service center for examination."

Bla.....

Device is now at a service center knowing that it most likely won't help.

So much money wasted!

The store i bought it from talked to a Sony-guy that said:

Most likely the phone has a "pre software" installed which is causing the problems. And if one update Android to 5.02 or newer it would solve the problem....

The Sony guy also said: If you use your phone with a lot of video and camera apps it will shut down. But that is to protect the phone........whaaaaaaat???

Come on Sony, seriously?

UPDATE NEW 7. AUGUST 2015

Just got my Z3+ back from service. Still same camera problems. Can't use it to shoot pictures or videos.

Repairman mentions in his report that no issues was found and the camera behaves normally.

It's normal for the camera to shut down to cool of. Hmm...

Never ever experienced that with other phones and i guess that's to expect in 2015 where all smartphones are equipped with a very good and functional camera, even for cheap phones. But not for Sonys flagship phones.

Well, what's your opinion. Is this what to expect from a brand new flagship phone?

I shot a video with my brand new iPhone 6, just 5 minutes after getting the Z3+ back.

HD video closes in 1 minute, slow motion stops in seconds

I have a z3+ rev 4 in the UK
HD video closes in seconds if I used YouTube or chrome before,
If not lasts for a minute or two
Slow motion also less than a minute
Have repaired with PCC, also reset the phone many times but nothing good

HI i have so many problems on my Z3+

1 . My phone get heat so much . even i was on the call and surfing web .

2. it get freeze all the time .

3. my all applications icona and that entire row shows under neath the bottom icon tray (Home , back, recent apps)

4. sometimes when i call someone i cant here anything or they cant here anyting but call is answerd .

i tryed reseting my phone and doing repire through pcc. and done the software update as well,

nothing working after doing software update i have reset and done the repaire through pcc as well. no luck any solutions please???

i had Xperia S, T, Z,Z1, ZUltra, Z2, Z3 never had a issue like this , please help

i didnt contact the sony yet. i seen on xda after updating to new firmware and repire by pcc thire phone are working fine no more heating issue even while 4K recording . i have try booting in safe mode its same ..
