Hi. I'm a new user of X10 Mini. Want to ask if there is any SMS counter, where it can count how many outgoing SMS we have send out? And also, is there any outgoing call timer? In those older version of Sony HPs, these functions are there. But this new X10 mini I can't find. Can anyone tell me if those functions are available?

If you have access to the Android Market have a search on Data Counter / SMS Counter there are lots of apps... DroidStats is one that I have seen recommended, Traffic Counter Extennded is another that looks quite nice and has 5 stars. If they are free you could give them a try and see if you like them, if you don't just uninstall them.

Thank you for the information. Want to verify if my phone must have the data plan then can install the software is it? Can I install via my laptop to my handphone?

You can download apps whilst on a wireless network/wifi for no cost in terms of data. Other than that you will be using 3g for which you will be charged if it isn't part of your monthly package.

Thank you Suze for the information. I'm trying real hard to download from Wifi. But my X10 mini seems like no reaction even I press "install" from the web page. Can't find any of the application or software at anywhere in my phone. I'm sure I missed out some steps or some steps I do wrongly. Can you guide me a step by step way?

Yes gwhispererz, I did. I went to the 'Market' on my hp menu. Then it leaded me to Google Account login. I've specially created a gmail account and tried to logged in there using the account too. But the connection is not successful as well. That's why I'm 'scatching my head' on which step is wrong or if I Must have the data plan then can go in or any step I've missed in between. I even tried the QR code scanner method. Not successful too. So will be very very glad if anyone can guide me the correct way.

Ok, I have the same experience too when I created my gmail account with phone. Just to confirm, go to PC/Laptop and login to your gmail account (I believe the creation using your phone should be successful).

Restart phone and access Market again.

Thank you gwhispererz for the guide. My problem now is "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". The reason for this error message is it because that I don't have any data plan? My Hp function only can do normal call, sms and WiFi, bluetooth...hmm... If I need data plan then I may not be able to access 'Market' then

Just read through the thread, to clarify you are having problems signing in to Google Market? Do you have a reliable wifi connection if you look at the Browser for example? If your wifi connection is OK then you could try signing in to the Talk app, this requires your google sign in too. If your connection is the problem, can you try at another wifi location.

If all else fails you could run a repair in PC Companion in the Support section, this will wipe your phone and in the new set up you should be asked to set up your google account as one of the first steps. This may resolve the issue. Just make sure that you back your contacts up first tho!

Thank you gwhispererz and Suze for the information. My WiFi is my own home wireless network where my laptop is using the same network as well. So I'm sure the connection is not a problem. The trying on 'Talk' I've done too and it's also unsuccessful. As my hp is a brand new one, I can afford now to do all sorts of testing and reinstallation. So I'm now doing it. But just a few minutes ago I found that I can't do Chinese texts SMS... *faint*... I hope by doing the repair in PC Companion can help me solve this too.... Or is this also an error too? I'm getting a bit tired and started to lose a bit of confidence in using this phone although I like it.

Of course your phone can !!!!

Goto messaging app, long press on write message area, choose input method, you will be able to choose the Chinese keyboard.

Don't worry, you will start to luv your phone once you get use to it!

Wah gwhispererz, you enlightened me wo... thank you thank you. I got the Chinese input text for sms le. So happy... It's really my 1st time using touch screen phone and a 'smartphone' like this. I didn't buy or use iphone before but this phone indeed like iphone...

Now I want to solve the other problem, the sms counter application issue. With all the functions I need, the extra functions will be a bonus to me. But firstly, have to solve the Google account log in issue... need to follow every steps then confirm don't go wrong liao. Hope I can get it right ...

You will .... eventually. You might want to read up the User Guide for some info, I believe your phone is running android 2.1 with the lastest firmware.

By the way, I got the feeling that your location is pretty close to mine, the 'little red dot'?

I've flipped the user guide up down left right many times liao. Normally for hp, I don't have to read the guide and able to figure out how to use. It's easy for the previous version. And indeed the firmware is 2.1. I checked liao. But I don't know where is wrong. So I think I'll follow Suze's instruction to repair and see if it works. At least I tried my best before sending to the centre for help.

And your feel is correct. We are from the same plc. I just got this new hp yesterday only as my old Sony's screen is black out and no more warranty liao. Have to get a new one or I can't work.

There should be a User Guide in the phone, search for it, there is an online one too.

Suze, had tried your repair method in PC Companion. The access to "Market" still failed again. Any other possibilities?

I think I can't log on at the Google session. Everything will link me to this session but it always fail at this point. Sigh...
