If you search on the main Sony Ericsson Website for Warranty you should be able to see how long your Sony Ericsson Warranty lasts for in your part of the world, certainly more than 7 days. I am in the UK and as far as I am aware the warranty lasts for 2 years as long as you reside in the country of purchase and have the original receipt (and obviously the phone hasn't been damaged by careless use)

If you let me know what country you are in I will try and find the local Service number for your region for you.

Consumer law must be different around the world, here the retailer has a duty to provide an item to be of merchantable quality (ie working properly) and that if it isn't then they have a duty to deal with that. I can understand a 7 day exchange on phones so that you can see if you like it, but if something is not working properly that is a whole different issue.

Xzizar, I'm no technical expert, but the solution to your problem seems simple: take one photograph, problem solved.

I cannot replicate the problem because I am not about to delete the hundreds of photos I've already taken, unfortunately. Seriously though, unless the "black bars" are replicating themselves across all applications, it seems clear that your phone is fine. There's definitely no problem with your phone's screen, and the only alternative is that there *might* be a corrupted icon in the software. Or that might just be part of the design.

If it just means taking one photograph to remove the troublesome icon, lucky you.

Don't worry about your English Xzizar, it is fine. I made a screenshot yesterday of the same thing that I think you are talking about. Click here to see the picture and confirm if it's the same thing: http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee265/foxhound5366/jpgbmp.jpg

Those lines are not a problem. I have them on my phone's icon too, and my phone works perfectly. Unless you have a more serious problem, I don't think there is anything that Sony will be able to fix on your phone. Do not waste your money on somebody else trying to fix your phone, who might end up really breaking it.

Hope you come right!
