After 2 weeks of happy working i found a problem with bluetooth (doesn't find anything). After several tries i made a reset. Now i can use bluetooth proper but the WiFi won't start at all (slide to the right but stays "greyed out"). Even systemresets won't fix the problem.
How can i fix the problem or should i sind it back to Sony?

hi SilverHarlequin,

can you please help on the same issue: Wifi and bluetooth are not operable after 1 year using the sgp521 without problems, unfortunately no guarantee anymore. I can't "bring it back" to Sony for a replacement, and after reading several bad stories about " "customer service" from Sony in my region I really don´t wanna go that route.

I reached my trial and error boarders with this problem.
My SGP521 having now formal most recent Sony build 23.4.A.1.200 Android 5.1.1 flashed with Sony Companion does not provide MAC (b4:52:7e:98:2f:0a) and IP adress to the WiFi and Bluetooth menu anymore, though no WiFi and no Bluetooth. I have flashed several older FTF builds for SGP521 down to 4.4 kitkat using flashtool 0.9.19.8 (BUT only the FTF and not KERNEL) and problem still exists. I have run a factory reset, no solution. I have run the service nr
*#*#7378423#*#* and it shows me Mac Adress 1: (b4:52:7e:98:2f:0a) in 'miscTA PLUS on filesystem (b4:52:7e:98:2f:0a) is basically known in the system.
S1 Boot Version: 1277-2049 S1_Boot_MSM8974AB_LA3.0_L_37
FILE SYSTEM VERSION: GLOBAL-LTE_23.4.A.1.200
ETS Software Version: 1278-7011_6
Customization Version: 1282-2019_R3C
Active Customization: 1282-2019_R3C
Type Number
TM-0040-BV
Touch Firmware Version: 12
GFuel Guage Firmware Version: The phone doesn´t support firmware version read
Current Modem Cong:
/system/etc/customization/modem/amss_fsg_castor_tar_mbn

and in the Menu: DTCP-IP: SRM Validation (Unavailable)(Unknown Error)

Kernel Version: 3.4.0-perf-geae0c9e BuildUser@BuildHost #1 Tue Aug 18 10:56:11 2015

Using the internal "TEST" function testing the WiFi and Bluetooth it passes the internal tests.

But using the advanced settings for WiFi the system still shows greyed out fields for IP and Mac adress, Wifi and bluetooth doesn't start.

When I said above I flashed older FTFs, than I am not sure if these FTFs have included the complete system including kernel software.

You said above you had flashed COMPLETELY a new FTF and that worked out. I am more than interested to get this COMPLETE FTF which solved the same issue at your SGP521 - and maybe a little hands on.

Please help, I have searched in many forums and tried a lot and couldn't find a solution yet.

Is that a hardware issue? Fact is, that th WIFI and Bluetooth module does not start up and in the advcanced setting to WiFI either the MAC nor the IP adress is shown available, fields are greayed out.

Your fast and educated advises are more than appreciated.

I have the same problem - wifi is dropping every few seconds - i already tried factory reset via PC Software twice and also tried to be very close to the router... nothing.

I think sony has some issues with the wlan module?
