As long as the music is in a format supported by the phone you can just copy the folders and files. Are you sure that all your music is in MP3 and not also other formats like WMA?

I recommend that you try transferring all files using Media Go as it will convert those files that are not supported by the phone.

When using Media Go it will place your music under Music\Artist\Album\File. If an album is split up into different folders this means that the ID3-tag in those files doesn't match. You can right click a file in Media Go, select Properties and change the information to correct this.

At first: I hope you´ll understand my explaination in english....

My problem:

I have a lot of folders with mp3 on my external hard drive. I want to put the onto my Xperia Z1.

First I have put the sd-card in the reader slot of my notebook an copied all the folder on it an put the sd card back into the phone. Only a few folders were found by the phone.

I deleted the sd card by using the phone´s deleting function and tried it again with the "MediaGo" Software. The Software departed the albums. e.g.: I had a folder with the album "Iron Maiden - Some where in time" and the MediaGo-Software made out of it 3 Folder with a few songs in each of them.

If no idea what to do anymore. Just copy the folders from the external hard drive to the sd card doesn´t work, right ?

I just the Sony Walkman App to listen to the songs...
