Hi. Can you tell me please what means demo phone? Does it mean lower hardware and software specs than retail phone? Thx in forward.

Generally they are the exact same device, just one provided to a retailer specifically for the purpose of being a demo phone.

Thx. When I see demo I have association on demo games, like something limited.

Just to be sure, demo and retail versions have exact same hardware components and software version, there are no quality control oversights on demo versions and demo is short for demonstration? Thx again.

Yes they are the same, however they tend to have had a rough life being handled by a number of customers, they generally have not had their firmware updated (though some retailers will do this) and they don’t tend to carry a manufacturer’s warranty.

Thank you very much. I just have two more questions.

1. Is firmware update possible on demo phone?

2. While I was reading Xperia Z1 review on GSMArena.com they wrote that demo Xperia Z1 phone which they got from Sony had display panel from Xperia Z, and camera wasn't incorporated as good as it should be. Could this be true?

Thank you very much, you were very kind.

My cousin got Xperia Z1 demo phone, but he's Z1 was unused, brand new, and he was worry about all this.

When I saw his Z1 I sold my iPhone 5 and bought Z1. Personally I think this is the best phone on the market. Samsung have 3 phones to replace Z1 (Galaxy S4, Galaxy Active, and Galaxy Zoom)

I had every iPhone from iPhone 2G until iPhone 5. iPhone 5s is zero for the Z1. Please keep like this, make more great phones like Z1, and I'll be your customer forever. 😄
