Try to use SUS instead

install SUS > restart your PC > disable your firewall and/or antivirus > run SUS > turn off your phone > follow the steps on your PC > press and hold volume down THEN connect the usb to your PC<>Xperia Z > DO NOT release the volume key > just wait, your PC should download the drivers, do you have win8? 7? vista? XP?

You are not able to update ?

OK if you have error with PC Companion try SUS
