Android software upgrade??

The peria X10 mini pro has the firmware version Donut (v 1.6) while newer versions like Eclair (v 2.1) and Froyo (v 2.2) have already been released and the other manufacturers have already used them in the phones. Android systems is ready to release the next version of the OS: Gingerbread (v 3.0) while we still use the crappy 1.6 base version.

When will the software upgrade to atleast 2.1 or 2.2 be available for the X10 mini pro users?

Sony Ericsson have stated that the roll out of Android 2.1 will begin at the end of this month, it should be available to users shortly after depending on how long your individual carrier takes to release it their users.

What does 'end of october' mean exactly? Does it mean the last week or day? Will my provider have more information or will they only find out at the time? Thanks.

I must echo the question asked. When in October? My daughter is desperate to have this phone but I cannot send it to her until I have updated the firmware. Please be more specific so we can prepare ourselves.....

The update starts sometime within the next three days which will take us up to the 31st of October when it should be out. Branded FWs might take longer as operators need to add there own options to the FW but this isn't up to Sony Ericsson when this is completed.

hi just a few questions i would like to get to know the answers to... 🙂

1) I have had a few issues on an off with my android market application too.... i have not being receiving updates for my applications on time for the last 3 weeks..... and in some cases i have not received them at all..... will that in any way affect the software upgrade...?

2) My phone was an unlocked version, so will i be receiving the upgrade during the next 3 days or 31st of October...? the last answer on this was not that clear....

3) will the software upgrade fix my existing android market problems...?

4) will the timescape and mediascape upgrades be coming with this android 2.1 update or will it be later on...? if its later on.... any expected date for that...?

would love to have these questions answered.... 🙂

3) I think, he meant that the update will be made available between 31st and 28th. Well I am not sure. Let KrazyD himself explain.

i won't be surprised if sony ericsson says that the android upgrade to 2.1 is delayed till first week of november or later !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has it started yet. There is a misleading post on the t-mobile support forum saying it will be the end of November? What is the problem? Lack of technical staff?

I think first global version will be released. I would have gotten update earlier but as I didn't have market application so I flashed the uk version that was updated one month late from my previous version even during the september update.

Now bear in mind the phrase roll out, that means that not everyone will get it day one it will get to different carriers / phone set ups at different times over the coming months.
