Hey,

I hope you can help this is really annoying. I created a gmail account when I got this phone purely because it asked me to (usually I use hotmail), then started a new job, where my boss said she uses gmail to communicate. Everytime I checked my gmail on the phone it woudn't tell me MY email address, (because, I shoulda known it) but I couldn't remember what it was, so I made a new gmail account, and started using it at work. I didn't want to have two accounts so when I found out what the original account was (in the phone). I went online on my computer and deleted the account, intending to replace it with the newer one. However since deleting the old email account, I can no longer update any apps, or buy any new apps. It continously asks for the old gmail's password, but won't accept it when I've entered it.

Basically is there any way I can change the gmail account on the phone?

Fanx.

There is two ways you can do this, the first is to go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and then find the Google based apps and tap on them, clear data clear cache. You can lose your contacts doing this so I would make sure that you have them saved to sim or synced with Sony Ericsson just in case.

The other way is to use Sony Ericsson Update Service to run a repair on your phone or use Factory Reset option within the Settings>SD Card, usb storage and phone storage option. Basically either way will wipe your phone and you start from scratch and set it up with the email account you are using. Again this will delete your contacts so make sure they are protected by saving elsewhere. Anything on your SD card should be ok.

Hi,

Thanks I did the first thing and it seems to have worked for the google problem. However, now I can't access my contacts. I can access my Favourite contacts but the rest of the list it asks me to import from my sim, which I then do, but then it just asks me to import them again and again. So how do I actually gain access to them?

i had similar today. i think you will find that its syncing with gmail which has no contacts so then it wipes your contacts to match gmail. either turn off syncs or make sure your gmail is your master contacts list, it seems to sync and wipe any you add to phone ?
