XA2 Ultra Dual H4233

When can I expect the OTA upgrade for my XA2? I live in the UK. It has been available for a while.

Xperia Companion keeps telling me it cant connect to server, that there is an unknown update available or that it cannot check for updates. How can I correct this? I have the Xperia Companion June 2020 version installed.

Otherwise the update may not yet be available for your device, as it should give you a notification with the update available.

Thanks Cosmic,

I've already tried that, to no avail. The UK Android 9 update is definitely available for my model, but if Xperia Companion isnt functioning then OTA is the only way. The XA2 Ultra Dual has never been available via my network provider, which is why I need Sony to release the OTA upgrade.

It's not exactly one corporate entity that decides on the release of an update, it's a bunch of them, which may delay the availability OTA for some models, since not all devices receive the update at the same time. hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

You can 'force' an update.

To do so, charge your device at >80% and switch it off.

Open Xperia Companion go Software Repair and mark ' Device not found or is a smartwatch'

Follow the onscreen instructions.

I believe you will get a notification once the update is available for your phone, as far as I know the updates depend on several factors not from the manufacturer.

I'm not sure if this is an issue I got mine new last year ebay within 6 months I had a9 but further updates problems because the H4233 duel WAS MENT FOR Japan Market not UK that's why I can't log on to there server either

You could try setting your computer locale to japan, use a VPN to 'log in from Japan' and update.

Maybe it's worth the try.
