Sony Xperia U wont update to android 4.0.4

My Sony xperia U won't update to android 4.0.4 and is stuck on android 2.3.7 the model is S25A and I got given it used but the update is not working, it says I have the latest for!ware but I don't. I can't update any of my apps to the latest version because it doesn't work properly. I also can't download many apps coz it says that it is not compatible with it

I am sorry to inform you that we no longer offer software for Xperia U, as the product has reached end of support. I am sorry to say that our servers no longer carry update files for the product and that I do not have a way for you to update your Xperia U.

I can still do my best to assist you with your product should you have some concern, but I am afraid that since the device has reached end of support that you will not be able to update it.
