Google Maps Offline

I have a Xperia mini pro and am trying to access Google maps offline.

I do not have a data plan.

I understand you have to have an internet connection to save tiles or maps so you can use offline, but I do not see the option for "Make available offline" in the menu listing...I only see clear map-greyed out, settings, and help.

How do I save the maps with wifi connection so I can access google maps offline without an internet connection?

which maps version do you have?

you need to update your maps app > on your phone > open the play store > maps > update

I should of realized, it was an update issue.
