XR-48A90K Using Catch up

Just purchased this smart TV and due to lack of knowledge I am having no success in using catchup to watch past programs. Can anybody explain how this works.

Find and choose the option ‘Live TV & Catch Up’. Then bring up the TV Guide. Any past programme showing a forward arrow in a circle, choose it, and the TV will bring up the required Player, and play the programme for you.

This is in addition to what you can get by starting one of the Player apps and navigating to the programme you want.
