Hi

I have a Sony Bravia tv and bought some led strip lights to provide some ambient lighting. Unfortunately when I plug them in to the usb outlet I get an error message advising me to unplug them due to a power issue. I believe they may be 5w output (I’m not technical in the slightest) and “think” the usb output might only be 2.5 but I may be wrong. Any suggestions? Or ideas where I can get lights that will work on the KD-55XF8096?

thanks

Hello @Carolm04,

you can check the power draw with little USB-Power-meters (cost less than 10bucks). I assume the lightstrip you got usually needs to be used together with a wall-plug that delivers more power than the port on the TV.

I personally would keep the current LED strip and get a remote controlled wall-plug to use with a USB-wall-adapter. Then you can even power the light on and off independand from the TV.
