      <title>KD-48X8305C not starting up</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This morning my Sony KD-48X8305C would not start. I tried many of the suggestions on this board (unplugging, leaving unplugged for an hour, factory reset attempt - holding power and volume-down buttons and replugging-in) and none worked.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;About 3 hours later the TV switched itself on partially. It is now stuck in a loop of being off, the Sony logo appearing and then cycling off again, with it getting to the 4 android circles on occasion before cycling off again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How do I get the TV to start properly?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There are some suggestions on this board that this is a known fault with this range of TVs and that it needs Sony to repair. The TV is out of Warranty, but does the Consumer Protection Act cover this?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any advice welcome...&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Spoke to Sony service line - they were not helpful. Said nothing other than unplug and try the force reset. Gave me a number of Forth Electronics - any experience with them? They only open for 4 hours a day, so will have to wait to Monday to speak with them.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
