no teletext on KDL32WE613

I reset tv to factory settings because after a new main circuit board fitted after only 4 months use. We could not get teletext which we look at daily. We do not need the internet at the moment so did not enable the smart tv option on set up. Should we have done this in order to get the red button service? I am baffled as to why it is not there.

I believe Teletext was axed due to its age some time ago.

Hi, Ceefax on ITV ended years ago. The red button service on BBC is still there for the time being. I still call it it teletext. Last night it was working again, I did not alter any settings, but this morning it has gone again. I can get on my pvr recorder but not on the tv. It is a mystery to me.

I connected TV to internet today, went to software download, auto
download on but checked for latest software. I said my tv was up to
date, I have the v8.542 version but according to the Sony software
updates for my tv it should be v8.585. So why is my tv not updating to that?

This sometimes happens when a TV is not connected to the Internet during the initial rollout, but you can always use the Manual USB method.

Thanks. I put this question to Sony in an e mail. They said that the update has not rolled out to all areas yet but could try the download to usb method. I have put it on a usb stick but am reluctant to try that as I have read reports of tvs going wrong with this method. I have asked Sony about which areas are still to be covered and when that would be. They have not replied yet.
